Do I need an appointment?
Yes, it’s a good idea to let me know you’d like to come in. We try very hard to look after our guests, to make sure that we’re here to meet you and to make the shop as private as possible so that you can relax while you’re trying dresses on. It helps with the little things, like turning the heating up in the showroom ready for you, or in summer turning the fans to ‘arctic’ setting so you don’t get all hot and bothered. If you’ve given me a list of dresses you like, I can get them tagged ready for you. And it helps me manage the diary – we also have to fit in sewing of alterations, steaming and prepping dresses for collection, and the million and one things that we need to do behind the scenes to run the shop.
If you would like to pop in without an appointment, we will do our very best to help you – but if we already have a bride in, or are expecting an appointment to arrive, we wouldn’t be able to give you the time and attention that brides deserve. So, just give me a quick call ( 01283 214553) and I can tell you if we’re busy. If the answer phone picks up, leave me a message and I’ll call you back as soon as I can.
We’re also happy to open out of normal hours for brides, please ask if you need an evening appointment for example.
Booking an appointment is simple – you can ring me on 01283 214553, call in to the shop, use the appointment request page on this website, or message me through Facebook and Instagram. And please, cancelling an appointment is just as easy. We know there are other bridal shops out there (quite a few of them are owned by my friends, bridal is a small world) and that you might find your perfect dress before you get to your appointment with us. We won’t quiz you, or sulk and shout, in fact we’d be very grateful if you would let us know that we can release your appointment to another bride. After all, you were raised to be polite 😊
Apparently there’s this thing called “a work / life balance” and I thought I’d give it a go this year. So, if I’ve got a morning without appointments, I might get on with the VAT at home. If I’ve had a week of late appointments, I might balance that with an afternoon off. And if my husband wants to whisk me off to Venice for the weekend (he reads these blogs, it’s worth a try 😉) I’ll need the time off. So yes, please book your appointment. It might get me to Venice….
